Lunenburg County Local Committees

The Lunenburg County Local of the NSTU has a variety of committees that any Local member may serve on. Committees are selected at the AGM in June. If you are interested, please forward your name to the Nominations Committee.

Equity Committee
Organizes and supports Professional Development sessions focused on equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Finance Committee
Oversees budgeting, financial planning, and reporting. Monitors expenditures and ensures responsible use of Local funds.

Professional Development Committee
Coordinates professional development opportunities. Plans and supports the Rep Retreats. Administers student bursaries.

Public Affairs Committee 
Facilitates meetings with MLAs and Government officials. Advocates on issues impacting public education.

Public Relations Committee
Coordinates Education Week activities. Produces Local calendar/planner. Manages advertising and promotional initiatives. Supports additional communications as needed.

Resolutions Committee
Reviews and prepares resolutions for consideration.

Social Committee
Organizes member social events. Coordinates the Christmas Social. Assists with the Rep Retreats. Supports additional events as needed.
